IIDA Los Angeles Haunt Couture

The IIDA Haunt Couture show is a multidisciplinary production that blends interior design, costume design and fabrication, fashion runway, music, and theatrical performance into a single immersive experience. This year’s theme was Film, and our assigned category was “Animation.”

Rachel Scheff served as both model and creative director, drawing inspiration from Alice in Wonderland with a darker, Halloween-inspired twist. Titled The Killing of Alice, the performance begins with Alice lost, scared, and confused in Wonderland. Through a live on-stage transformation, she reimagines herself as the Queen of Hearts, a metaphor for lost innocence and the necessity of embracing one’s darker side for survival. The two-in-one costume, along with concept development, construction, and performance, was fully executed by Rachel Scheff and her team, resulting in a show-stopping, unforgettable presentation.
